O’Day accepts Bob Feller Act of Valor Award
On November 16, Baltimore Orioles pitcher Darren O’Day was honored at the U.S. Navy Memorial in Washington D.C. with the prestigious 2017 Bob Feller Act of Valor Award for his ongoing commitment to U.S. military servicemen and their families.
The award annually highlights a player who embodies the values, integrity and dedication to serving the United States that Hall of Famer Bob Feller showed. Feller served four years in the United States Navy during World War II in the middle of his playing career, the first American professional athlete to enlist.
