Banner Year for Ballengee in 2018

As we close the calendar year in 2018, we want to look back and acknowledge many of the accomplishments of our clients!

11 players made their big league debuts (Steve Wilkerson, Daniel Palka, Blake Trahan, Jake Newberry, Jerry Vasto, Ty Buttrey, David Fletcher, Jake Cave, Jordan Hicks, Trey Wingenter and Ray Black).

8 players in the ALCS/NLCS, second most of any agency.

10 picks in the first 3 rounds of the June Amateur draft, more than any other agency.

18 players played in the Arizona Fall League with other top prospects.

Rookie reliever Jordan Hicks threw the two fastest pitches in 2018, at 105.1 and 105.0 mph, the former tied for the fastest recorded pitch on record. He owns 7 of the top 10 fastest pitches in 2018, and 19 of the top 25.

White Sox slugger Daniel Palka’s 27 home runs (in only 417 at-bats) tied for the MLB lead among all rookies.

Tony Kemp, Tyler White and Ryan Pressly (after a mid-season trade) were key to the Astros’ run to another AL West title and run to the ALCS.

In his first season back in his hometown Braves, Charlie Culberson set career-highs in almost every category, and became the first player in Atlanta-era history with two pinch-hit game-ending home runs in the same season (5/28 and 6/3)

Pitchers Heath Hembree and Steven Wright were integral parts of the Red Sox staff that won 108 games and their 4th World Series title since 2004.

Looking forward to more accomplishments in 2019!
